“I'd Know You Anywhere,” by Laura Lippman (William Morrow, 384 pp.) is a psychological thriller in which 38 year old Eliza is contacted by her former kidnapper. Along with readers, the wife and mother wonders what Walter Bowman could possibly want after all these years. Eliza agrees to speak with him to have her questions answered: what motivated Bowman to kidnap young girls, and—unlike the others-- to let Eliza live?
