Christa Case Bryant is The Christian Science Monitor's Heartland correspondent, covering political issues from Appalachia to the Great Plains – and sometimes beyond.
A 2015-16 Nieman fellow at Harvard, she previously served as Jerusalem bureau chief, Middle East editor, and Europe editor for the Monitor. She has reported from Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Germany. From July 2016-September 2017 she was the Monitor's Politics editor.
Ms. Bryant is a graduate of Principia College, where she focused on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through her major in global perspectives and minor in religion. She also attended the Middlebury School of Hebrew, and studied spoken Arabic in Jerusalem.
After spending many years as a cross-country ski racer on the national and international level, Ms. Bryant has a special interest in all things Olympian. She covered the 2010 Vancouver Games for the Monitor, and is slated to cover the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
