With drop in business travel, hotels work harder to please

What amenity do hotel guests most appreciate? According to the latest annual survey by J.D. Power & Associates, it's complimentary bottled water in their rooms. The Westlake Village, Calif., market researcher polled 13,000 guests of hotels from 52 chains in North America on how satisfied they were with their stays. While the results confirmed the perception that business travel is down since Sept. 11, respondents generally were pleased with hotels in all but the budget category. The highest-rated chains in the survey:

Luxury: Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts
Upscale: Embassy Suites Hotels
Midprice (full service): Hilton Garden Inn
Midprice (limited service): Country Inns and Suites
