* BEVERLY HILLS COP III - (R, Paramount Home Video). Ten years and much creativity separate this film from its energetic original. Eddie Murphy returns as street-savvy detective Axel Foley, a Detroit cop whose friends are always murdered by bad guys with California addresses. It's business as usual as Foley heads to the Golden State to nab a co-worker's killer. Murphy's comedic presence and several elaborate amusement-park sets are not enough to save the film from its lackluster screenplay, cardboard villains, and excessive violence. The underutilized supporting cast includes Judge Reinhold and Bronson Pinchot, with a cameo by George Lucas.
