HOW CORPORATIONS MUST TOE THE LINE

Here are highlights of a corporate compliance program under the new Federal "Guidelines for Sentencing":

* Business must have in place crime-prevention standards and procedures for employees and company agents.

* Business must make sure employees know the anticrime standards, either in writing or through training programs.

* High-level employees are to enforce standards.

* Strategies to prevent and detect crime must be in place. Hotlines must be set up and whistle-blowers must not face recrimination.
