NEW PLANT MAKES A LOTTA PASTA

Borden Inc., a worldwide food producer, has opened North America's largest pasta plant in St. Louis.The $50 million plant will produce 250 million pounds of various pasta shapes per year. Americans will consume 19 pounds of pasta per person this year, compared to Italy's 60 pounds per person, according to A. S. D'Amato, the company president.
