LAYOFF TREND: OUTPLACEMENT IN GROUPS

With continuing corporate downsizings and employee layoffs, more companies are cutting costs by providing outplacement in groups rather than individually, says Mike Knox of Group Dynamics Inc., an outplacement consulting firm. The group outplacement sessions typically involve 12 to 15 people, and focus on job-hunting tools such as resume writing, networking skills, and interview techniques.
