Moving Day

Books, pots, pans, chinaware all packed, even at the last minute we waver on whether there's space for that overgrown plant we raised from a shoot. Movers lift and strain in summer heat. Without their contents rooms shrink. Twenty years sped by like a glissando - one last time we walk through the house, glad there's no limit on memories we can keep.
