Light on Ullswater

This gift of light Across the lake Is touching more Than water, trees; Each fern that flames Returns my praise, Each rock that glows Preserves my song. The moisture of the grass Has quenched the tumult Of the thirsty wind; And always subtle, Unexplored, the clouds Are brushstrokes of a hand That sees beyond This canvas world.
