Rainpoem

The Sky Awash With Poetry

Slowly it begins, then all at once comes faster and faster until the water forms an unbroken line to the sky. Dropping in perfect parallels forming perfect circles in puddles, the rain washes clean our geometry, freeing colors in the spectrum to expand and run together. The blue being not so perfectly blue now, but green, with a hint of yellow thrown in.

Then we see that sky and trees and grass are one, all part of the same watercolor; overwet, and blending soft edges until color and form lose their distinction, and become bright-hued blobs set in gray.

The sun will restore firm shape and perspective, but for now, only circles in puddles and parallel lines are perfection in gray which continue unbroken dropping in lines from the sky.
