ISRAELI TROOPS ROUND UP 250 IN GAZA STRIP
| JERUSALEM
Israeli troops in the occupied Gaza Strip yesterday detained more than 250 Muslim fundamentalists and seized a cache of automatic weapons in the biggest arrest raid since the Palestinian uprising began 17 months ago, the Army announced. In clashes on Sunday, soldiers shot and killed two Palestinians and wounded at least 25, according to hospital reports. The deaths raised to 496 the number of Palestinians killed since the uprising against Israeli rule of the occupied lands began in December 1987. Twenty-two Israelis have been slain.
