We live (some of us more than others) too much by that flickering blue light and its ubiquitous laugh tracks. I am not glad of this increasing trend. ``He has, therefore he looks,'' said someone, as if wisely, on the subject. But I thought the premise weak. A serious joke. What ever happened to books? Ah, viewers, I give my word: Start now and you'll find there is life after TV. Give a flick to the old set; let's go outside A pause for promise by the shattered roses; then a short walk (irresistibly) we'll take a long, long look up and out and around, and up-p-p-p-p (again) at the

night.
