Hot off the presses

It's not exactly ``Gone With the Wind,'' but the recently released Tower Commission report is doing a brisk business in bookstores nationwide. As of last Friday, the US Government Printing Office (GPO) had sold 8,978 copies of the blue, workbook-size official report in the same format that was presented to President Reagan last month.
In the meantime, since Feb. 28 Bantam Books has printed 700,000 paperback versions of the report, complete with an introduction written by New York Times Washington correspondent R.W. Apple.
The Bantam version of the report sells for $5.50 in major bookstores. The official GPO report costs $14 and is available at US government bookstores.
