`Rappaport' and `Drood' sweep Tony Awards

The American Theater Wing's Tony Awards for Broadway's 1985-86 season were presented Sunday night in ceremonies televised by CBS-TV. Lily Tomlin, who all alone plays the huge cast of ``The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe,'' and Judd Hirsch, who plays a spunky octogenarian in ``I'm Not Rappaport,'' received awards for best actress and actor.

Bernadette Peters, who also holds the stage alone in the first half of ``Song & Dance,'' and George Rose, the master of ceremonies of ``The Mystery of Edwin Drood,'' also won for best actress and actor in musicals.
