Senate OKs Reagan plan for cutting budget deficits

After four weeks of debate, the Senate Thrusday approved President Reagan's package of $142 billion in nondefense spending cuts and higher taxes to reduce budget deficits.

The three-year plan, approved on a 65 to 32 vote, must now be reconciled with a $182 billion package of spending cuts that earler passed the House.
