To dress up fruit cocktail for a light dessert, toast 1/2 cup walnuts and add to 2 cups chilled, drained fruit cocktail. Stir in 1/2 pint sour cream and 1 tablespoon maple syrup. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
For a small hors d'oeuvre, sandwich between 2 walnut halves a mixture of cream cheese and Roquefort, to taste. Also delicious as a garnish for most any kind of salad or cold dish.
