Sharon: Arms for Jordan are aimed at Israel
Former Israeli Defense Minister Ariel Sharon Wednesday warned against what he said was a US mistake in trying to supply Jordan with sophisticated arms, which he said would be used only against Israel.
''I warn here and now that the Jordanians would never use these weapons against anybody but Israel. Not against Syria, not against the Russians, but only against Israel,'' Mr. Sharon said.
''So stop immediately this dangerous arms race or we will find tommorrow the missiles in the hands of the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization),'' he told about 1,500 people at a fund-raising dinner here for an Israeli school.
