Police in Warsaw break in at radical priest's home

Police used crowbars to break into the home of a radical Roman Catholic priest in Warsaw Thursday when he refused for 90 minutes to let them enter to search the building.

They told the Rev. Stanislaw Malkowski the search, expected to last several hours, was in connection with the planned trial of four members of the KOR dissident group who are accused of plotting to overthrow Communist rule.

Fr. Malkowski, who has no parish but is attached to a Warsaw cemetery where he conducts funeral services, has been close to the group.
