Walesa's wife silent on Solidarity meeting
Gdansk, Poland — Danuta Walesa refused to answer police inquiries into her husband's activities during 21/2 hours of questioning. Her summons followed the questioning of her husband, Solidarity leader Lech Walesa, Wednesday about a meeting he had with Solidarity's five-man underground leadership. Meanwhile, leaders of Poland's underground opposition called for widespread worker demonstrations on May Day. The demonstrations would be independent of the official Communist ceremonies.
