Brezhnev wants UN force, no US troops, in Lebanon

Soviet President Leonid Brezhnev was quoted Tuesday as saying he supports proposals for a United Nations force to supervise withdrawal of besieged Palestinian guerrillas from western Beirut.

But the Kremlin chief, interviewed by the Communist Party newspaper Pravda repeated an earlier warning that he would ''categorically oppose'' any US participation in the force.
