OPEC output trails noncartel nations

For the first time in 20 years, OPEC produced less oil in the first quarter of 1982 than non-OPEC Western nations, Petroleum Intelligence Weekly reports. The latter produced 21.6 million barrels per day - 1.3 million barrels a day more of crude oil and gas liquids than the 13-nation cartel - in the January-to-March period, the oil journal said.
