At The Giant Stairs

I pause here: The Giant Stairs Plunge, weather hewn, to sea Sea that besets this land Aligned with the arcane sky As far as the eye perceives. Spare as least stalk Of goldenrod, yet tall enough To face wind tug, the strain of surf I stand near the edge Of the cliff, look down Look out, then down Divine my modest estate, as placed Beside sea and sky; though The human dimensions remain where My feet touch the rough, warm ground.
