New from Rubik: pyramids!
Chicago — Fans of Rubik's Cube - meet Magic Snake. Dr. Erno Rubik's new instrument of mental torture is 24 five-sided pyramids linked by rivets. The first ''snakes'' went on sale in August and some 700,000 are expected to be in consumers' hands by Christmas.
Unlike the frustrating multicolored box puzzle, the snake has several possible solutions. ''The Magic Snake has an original shape, but you can make it into almost anything - a dog, a picture frame, a car, anything. It's a great fidgeting item,'' says Jack Hirsch, president of Hirsch Co Inc., which markets the puzzle.
