Panel to cut waste, fraud is set up by President

President Reagan created a special committee to combat waste and fraud in government and said he was determined to root out every incompetent and crook who was cheating the American people. Mr. Reagan, who signed an executive order establishing the President's Council on Integrity and Efficiency, also named six inspectors general to investigate waste and fraud in government agencies. Mr. Reagan said 10 others wou ld be named soon.
