Don't look for any major new turns in Us policy on the Middle East as a result of Alexander Haig's coming visit. But right- and left-wing Arabs alike says they expect the Haig trip may calm regional leaders and give the Reagan administration several more months to assess the political situation there.

Says one Arab source: There is no reason to expect a new US initiative until after the Israeli elections in J une.m
