Swiss youth and police in new confrontations

Young Swiss demonstrators demanding more subsidies for youth culture clashed with police armed with rubber bullets and water cannon in fresh disturbances here and in Basel. Police said Saturday's clashes in Zurich, the scene of youth riots over the past nine months, occurred during an unauthorized demonstration outside the National Museum in protest over the seizure of an antiestablishment news sheet.

In Basel police arrested 13 people in clashes at the end of a week-long series of public meetings organized by a local theater on the theme "Disorders in the State."
