Joint mining venture

The Philippine government and Billliton B. V., a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell, have formed a $100 million joint venture to invest in local mining projects.

The joint venture, NDC-Shell Minerals Investment Company, will invest in new mining projects or in the expansion of existing ones to extract such minerals as coppper, zinc, lead, and nickel.
