There's a small pond in the woods near my home, Where I like to go to let my thoughts roam. When the sun shines on the water, I make ripples with some rocks. The ripples shine in the sun, like a lady's curly locks. The pond is such an inspiration thing; In and over the pond I see many a bird on the wing. It's such a peaceful and magical place, Woven perfectly of a child's fantastical lace. It's the perfect place to sit alone and think, At the bottom of a hill, at the water's brink. If you look deep within it, you may chance to see, A child's imaginary refuge, a world of pretend and glee. The sun reflecting off the water Looks like sparkling jewels to me. But the thoughts that it brings to mind Are a much greater treasure Than anything else you'll find.
