PERSONALIZED CASSETTES FOR MUSIC FANS

Teenagers for years have made up their own selection of music on tape cassettes by copying portions of tapes owned by friends. Now music fans can walk into a record store and made a custom cassette of their favorite selections in a matter of minutes. Personics Corporation uses a digital recording technology to allow customers at some stores to select from two to 25 songs, or up to 90 minutes of music for each tape, from more than 4,000 selections. Fees charged per song range from $0.50 to $1.50.
