Singapore to withdraw from UNESCO in 1985

Singapore is withdrawing from UNESCO, the nation's ambassador to France said Thursday. Ambassador David Marshall, who also acts as Singapore's permanent representative to UNESCO, said the decision indicates neither disagreement with nor criticism of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.

''We're a small country and we've got . . . priority objectives for our limited resources,'' he said.
