Greece and Libya sign trade-exchange accord

Greece and Libya ended two days of talks and signed an economic cooperation accord for trade exchanges worth $1 billion for each side, Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou said here on Monday. After talks with Libyan Col. Muammar Qaddafi, Mr. Papandreou said, ''We have identical points of views ... on peace and the creation of a Mediterranean sea free of foreign fleets and bases.'' He called Greece a bridge between Arab and European countries.

The trade agreement was the biggest his government has signed with another country, he said.
