London police see blast as post-Christmas warning

A Christmas Day bomb that slightly injured two pedestrians in central London was a warning to shoppers planning to visit the city that the IRA's bombing campaign could continue through the traditional post-Christmas sales, police said.

Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher made a surprise visit to Northern Ireland over the weekend and pledged to preserve British rule over Ulster.
