Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

In a story on the University of Virginia on the Travel pages March 15, two dates were incorrectly given. The University opened March 7, 1825, a little morem than one year before Thomas Jefferson passed on. Also, April 13, 1976, was not the 200th anniversary of Jefferson's birth - he was born on April 13, 1743. We apologize for these mistakes.
