King Hussein, the traditionally pro-Western ruler of Jordan, is about to make his second trip to Moscow within 13 months.

Soviet sources say Hussein was invited to pay another, less formal visit at the time of his summit talks in the Soviet Union in May 1981. The sources say the invitation was recently renewed, and that Hussein plans to arrive in late June. Arab diplomatic sources confirm this. Although the trip will not be a formal state visit, Moscow sources say that the monarch is expected to meet with top Soviet officials.

After Hussein's earlier visit, Jordan announced plans to purchase Soviet missiles, having been denied a mobile US system. US officials have tried to persuade the British-educated monarch not to go through with the deal and reportedly hope to get congressional approval for meeting some Jordian military requests.
