A new trailer has been released for the upcoming movie “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.”

The upcoming film is the finale of the “Hunger Games” series, which is based on the trilogy by writer Suzanne Collins. The last book in the series, “Mockingjay,” was split into two films, with “Mockingjay – Part 1,” having been released in November 2014.

The “Hunger Games” series stars Jennifer Lawrence as protagonist Katniss Everdeen, who in the new trailer is determined to take down the villainous President Snow (Donald Sutherland). “Nothing good is safe while Snow’s alive,” she says. The series co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth as Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne, the other two corners of Everdeen's love triangle, as well as actress Elizabeth Banks of “Pitch Perfect 2,” and “True Detective” actor Woody Harrelson.

Each installment in the series has done very well at the box office, following the huge success of the book series. So, Hollywood executives are no doubt asking, what’s the next “Hunger Games”? Is there a next “Hunger Games”?

The popular young-adult dystopian film series based on author Veronica Roth's “Divergent” book series is already about halfway through the series. As with “Hunger Games,” the last book, “Allegiant,” will be split into two films, scheduled for 2016 and 2017.

Meanwhile, the first installment of another young-adult dystopian series, “The Maze Runner,” did well, so it’s a possible heir to the “Games” throne (though it remains to be seen whether anything would have the same name recognition as Collins’ trilogy). The second installment in the “Maze” series, “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials,” is coming this September, and the third will be released in 2017.

Are there any other contenders for young adult dystopian successes? Rick Yancey’s book “The 5th Wave”, which centers on a teenage girl living in a society in ruins, is being adapted as a movie that will be released in 2016.

But other upcoming young-adult films are centered in fantasy and real-world settings. One of 2016’s big releases is "Harry Potter" spinoff “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

And one of this summer’s releases is “Paper Towns,” based on the book of the same name by John Green. The movie adaptation of Green’s book “The Fault in Our Stars” was a big hit last summer, so if “Paper” scores big at the box office, expect to see Hollywood eyeing his other novels.
