Jet overshoots runway: A corporate jet ran off the end of a runway, and through at fence at the Eden Prairie airport Monday evening.

Two pilots escaped injury when a corporate jet ran off the end of the runway and crashed through a fence while landing at Flying Cloud Airport in the Minneapolis suburb of Eden Prairie.
Police say the Embraer Phenom 300 came to a stop on the shoulder of Flying Cloud Drive just before 9 a.m. Monday. The southbound lanes of the road were closed for several hours, but the airport soon reopened.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating what caused the accident.
The aircraft's owner, Flight Options of Cleveland, tells the Star Tribune there were two crew members but no passengers aboard the twin-engine jet, which seats seven passengers.
The plane had taken off from Pittsburgh around 7:30 a.m. EDT.
As The Christian Science Monitor reported, there have been at least three well-publicized runway incidents involving commercial airlines in the past month. On July 22, Southwest Airlines Flight 345 skidded nose-first into the grass after the landing gear collapsed immediately after the plane touched down on the runway at LaGuardia airport in New York. On July 6, a Boeing 777 flown by Asiana Airlines crashed upon landing at San Francisco Airport, killing three. On July 12, an empty 787 Dreamliner owned by Ethiopian Airlines plane caught on fire on the runway at London’s Heathrow airport.
