We may finally have a release date for a new album by singer Adele.

A new album by the singer will reportedly be released this November

Adele’s last work was the smash hit album, “21,” which was released in 2011 and won multiple prizes. Hit singles “Rolling in the Deep,” “Rumor Has It,” and “Set Fire to the Rain” all appeared on “21.” “21” was the top-selling album of the year in both 2011 and 2012, the first time the same album was the highest-selling in America for multiple years since Nielsen SoundScan began measuring sales in 1991.

“21” won best album of the year and best pop album at the Grammy Awards and Adele’s songs “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You” also picked up prizes that same year.

Adele scored another hit with the song, “Skyfall,” which appeared in the 2012 James Bond movie of the same name. The track won a Grammy Award for best song written for visual media and won the Oscar for best original song.

What made “21” in particular such a hit?

Critics praised the album for its original and somewhat retro sound as well as Adele’s strong voice. One reviewer noted that “21” is “steeped in Southern blues, country and soul” and wrote that “her voice is a thing of wonder.”

Another critic wrote of the album that “the vibe is unabashedly analog. Strings swell, pianos shiver, and Adele unleashes 21’s most powerful instrument: That Voice,” while one reviewer wrote of the album’s structure, “[It has] simple instrumentation and simple structures that allow Adele’s raspy, expressive voice to develop the story in the verses before she delivers the hook.”
