Faith Hill SNF song: She won't sing it again

Faith Hill SNF song: Country singer Faith Hill won't be opening Sunday Night Football this season. She tweeted that it's time to 'let someone else rock the open.'

Faith Hill is out of the football game.

The country star announced Monday morning on Twitter that she won't be performing the  "Sunday Night Football" theme song this year. She's been featured at the top of the broadcast for six years now.

She sang "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" set to the tune of the 1988 oan Jett classic, "I Hate Myself for Loving You." Pink was the first to cover the song in 2006 for the NFL.

Hill says in her  tweet:

"Amazing 2 have been part of SNF - an honor. I've just let everyone there know it's time 2 let someone else rock the open," Adding, "….Difficult decision. Kinda emotional. Love all u guys at SNF - I'll b watching!!!"

"Sunday Night Football" executive producer Fred Gaudelli tweeted "great love and appreciation" to Hill for her participation over the years. He made no mention of what the show plans to do with the opening.
