In return for all those devastating diapers, advances on allowance, and terrifying teenage years, we reckon any Dad deserves a reward on that one special day of the year. If your kids' homemade art doesn't quite do it for you though, there's a selection of freebies you can expect to bag on the day to help you celebrate in style.

From free lunches to trips to your local museum, you can treat yourself (or your own lucky father) to a day of pure self-indulgence without spending a single buck.

Dads dine in style

Kids are great at many things — story-telling, creating art from dried pasta, and fitting into small spaces, but their skills in the kitchen leave a lot to be desired. That's why we're very glad to see that many of our favorite food joints have breakfast, lunch, or dinner covered for dear ole Dad.

In Kentucky, the oldest Black independent library is still making history

Select Spaghetti Warehouse locations are treating any carb-loving Pops to an original recipe spaghetti dish for free on the day. Boston Market has a 2-for-1 coupon for any BBQ Ribs individual meal on the day, while Firehouse Sub offers a free medium sub with the purchase of a sub, chips, and a medium drink. Other outlets likely to be offering deals on the day are reader favorite Outback Steakhouse or Chili's, so keep your eyes peeled at your local outlet.

Penny-pinching pastimes for pops

If you're looking for a family day out that won't break the bank on Sunday, then consider heading to the zoo. Over 60 zoos across the nation are offering free admission for dads, and some even for the kiddies too. This includes zoos in Montgomery and Birmingham in Alabama, San Francisco, and Franklin Park Zoo in Boston.

Many local museums as well as nature and water parks are also offering similar Father's Day deals, which will help you keep the whole family entertained while Dad nabs a freebie and cuts back on spending. Free entry can be bagged to Butterfly World or Rapids Water Park in Florida and the Seattle Mariners Game at Safeco Field in Seattle, for example.

Longer-lasting loot

When the day is done and dusted and you're fed, tired, and feeling adequately appreciated, what will you have to show for it? A loving family is all well and good in the long term, but gathering free bootie around town is a frankly more exciting way to spend this Father's Day in our humble (and lonely) opinion.

Head to your local First Watch Daytime Cafe and you'll pick up a free bottle of maple syrup just to make the day that little bit sweeter. Then, when the kids hit the hay, you can indulge in a relaxing brew if you're lucky enough to nab one of these Father's Day pint glasses at BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse.

A majority of Americans no longer trust the Supreme Court. Can it rebuild?

Far more impressively though is the Harbor Freight Tools giveaway. With these printable coupons in tow, you can pick up a hoard of free tools and accessories to help bulk out that toolbox even if you intend to ignore that long list of odd jobs.
