Author James Dashner has announced he is writing another prequel to his “Maze Runner” series, news that comes soon after the movie adaptation of the first book set in that world, also titled “The Maze Runner,” hit theaters and a movie sequel to “Maze” was announced.

The new book will be titled “The Fever Code” and will be released in 2016.

“From the very beginning, I’ve always wanted to write a prequel about Thomas, Teresa, Newt, Minho, Alby and all the Gladers that leads up to the very moment Thomas enters the Box,” Dashner said in a statement, according to the Los Angeles Times. “There are so many things hinted at that will be fun to reveal in depth. For years, fans have made it abundantly and enthusiastically clear that they want the same thing, so now seems like the perfect time to give readers the story of how the Maze began.”

Dashner has already written one prequel to the main trilogy, which is titled “The Kill Order.” The trilogy consists of the books “The Maze Runner,” “The Scorch Trials,” and “The Death Cure.”

The movie version of “Maze” stars Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. It tells the story of a boy named Thomas (O’Brien) who wakes up as he is being conveyed to a large area called the Glade. He has no idea how he got there and the other boys tell him that the area is surrounded by a large maze, which no one has figured out a way through. Soon a girl, the first one there, arrives as well.

The film came in first place at the box office this past weekend, grossing $32.5 million, according to the Associated Press, which was far above the grosses for the thriller “A Walk Among The Tombstones,” which starred Liam Neeson, and the dramedy “This Is Where I Leave You.” The studio behind it, 20th Century Fox, soon announced that a movie will be made of the next book in the “Maze” trilogy, “The Scorch Trials,” and that it will be released in September 2015.
