When a deaf 15-year-old boy finally learns to speak, what does he say?

Born without hearing, Patrick Otema has spent his life in silence. 

But one day, a sign language teacher showed up in his Ugandan village. It turns out 15-year-old Patrick has a lot to say – and now he has a way to say it, reports British TV Channel 4's "Unreported World."

The "Unreported World" follows Patrick and the work of a Sign Health Uganda, a UK-based charity dedicated to making sure deaf people get the same sort of access as hearing people to healthcare and health information.

In the original reporting about this program, "15 and Learning to Speak," Unreported World followed the inspirational work of the sign language teachers transforming the lives of deaf children and adults in Uganda who had never been able to communicate before.
