WWDC 2015: Will Apple reveal the new iMac and Macbook Pro?

According to new reports, Apple may be introducing the world to its latest computer models at its annual developers conference and, uncharacteristically, the rumors appear to be more than just gossip.

As a new week begins, so do the new rumors surrounding Apple’s upcoming products. But during this round of ‘he said, she said,’ the French tech site, MacGeneration or MacG.co (Google translate), heard from consistently reliable sources that the latest 15-inch MacBook Pro and 27-inch iMac are expected to be unveiled on Wednesday. (So you may not have to take this latest gossip with grain of salt.)

While the unnamed insiders confirmed Mac fans will see the newest Apple computers this week, they revealed little else about the tech and upgrades. MacRumors noted the recent updates to the 13-inch MacBook Pro, which includes the new Intel Core processors, enhanced graphics, retina display, and the Force Touch trackpad, as a way to offer some insight into what the revamped MacBook should come equipped with. As for the 27-inch iMac, there is little to no information on the desktop, so fanboys will have to hold tight until Wednesday for official details.

Both MacGeneration and MacRumors have noticed a trend of Apple dragging out shipping estimates for the 15-inch MacBook Pro that is currently on sale, which went from taking one week to three. This has led many to speculate that the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 8th, which has historically used the event to reveal new hardware, will be used again as a display for Apple’s most recent products.

OK, she’s worth $1 billion, but can Taylor Swift write poetry? We ask the experts.

Last year at WWDC, Apple chose to focus on the latest updates to iOS 8 and OS X 10.10 Yosemite instead of unveiling any physical tech. (The iPhone maker likely had its hands full with the yet-to-be-revealed Apple Watch at the time.) But in 2012 and 2013, Apple showed off updates to its MacBook Air laptops and gave a sneak preview of its cylindrical Mac Pro processor in 2013.

While it is likely Apple will reveal iOS 9 and OS X 10.11, possibly making it another software focused conference, many are confident that these Macs will make an appearence.
