'Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell' gets air date, 'The Magicians' receives series order

Two acclaimed fantasy novels are getting closer to your TV screen – 'Jonathan' will air on the BBC this month and on BBC America in June, while an adaptation of Lev Grossman's 'The Magicians' received a series order from network Syfy.

'Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell' is by Susanna Clarke and 'The Magicians' is by Lev Grossman.

A lot of magic will be coming soon to your TV.

As we previously reported, a small-screen adaptation of Susanna Clarke’s popular novel “Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell” is being released on the BBC in Britain and on BBC America in the US. The show stars “Ray Donovan” actor Eddie Marsan and Bertie Carvel of the stage production “Matilda.”

We now have a release date for “Jonathan” – the TV program will air on the BBC on May 17 in Britain and will come to American TV sets on June 13, according to BBC America.

Meanwhile, another acclaimed fantasy novel will be coming to TV as well. Syfy has ordered 12 episodes of a TV adaptation of Lev Grossman’s novel “The Magicians,” according to Deadline
