Author John Green recently shared his enthusiasm for the film adaptation of his novel “The Fault in Our Stars.”

The movie stars “The Spectacular Now” actress Shailene Woodley and “Divergent” actor Ansel Elgort as Hazel and Augustus, two teenagers who meet at a group for young cancer patients. Woodley is also starring in “Divergent,” an adaptation of Veronica Roth’s popular dystopian young adult novel, with Elgort. Josh Boone is directing the film.

“I’m totally, unambiguously excited about 'The Fault in Our Stars' being a movie,” Green told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s not something I could have ever said before, about my other books, and the reason I’m so excited is that Shailene and Ansel are so great and Josh Bloom is such a great director. They’ve included me in every facet of the process.”

“Stars” was critically acclaimed upon its release in 2012 and was named the best fiction book of 2012 by Time Magazine and was selected as an editor’s choice by the New York Times. The book is still at number one on the Young Adult New York Times bestseller list.
