The Kite Runner” author Khaled Hosseini will release a new novel this May, according to publisher Riverhead Books.

The book, which will be titled “And the Mountains Echoed,” will focus on family, a theme Hosseini said he is continuing from his two previous bestsellers “Runner” and “A Thousand Splendid Suns.”

“My new novel is a multi-generational family story as well, this time revolving around brothers and sisters, and the ways in which they love, wound, betray, honor, and sacrifice for each other,” Hosseini said in a statement.
