The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper, Fairer Health Care by T. R. Reid looks into the health care systems of France, Germany, Japan, the UK, Canada, Taiwan, and Switzerland. Throughout the book Reid makes statements like "every developed country except the United States has designed a health care system that covers every resident." (Emphasis mine.) He is a good writer and has a personal approach to the problem. It behooves us all to pay attention to what he has to say.
