I'm reading Last Chain on Billie by Carol Bradley. The book is about a former circus elephant, chained and abused since she was a baby, who was rescued from that life in 2006 and taken to the Elephant Sancuary in Tennessee. In the sanctuary, she has freedom, safety, and the companionship of other rescued, needy elephants.
