I just finished Odds Against Tomorrow by Nathaniel Rich, a novel from the viewpoint of a generation that grew up with 9/11 and Katrina. It is a too-real disaster narrative that is very thought-provoking. Reading it made me wish I was in a book club, so I could discuss the multiple themes. How afraid should we be and when is lack of fear courage and when is it society's denial of a worrisome reality?
