And So It Goes, by Charles Shields, is a thorough examination of Kurt Vonnegut's life. As in his earlier biography of Harper Lee, Shields leaves no stone of research unturned. "Mockingbird" and the Vonnegut biography are both strong reads about wonderful writing.
