JAJAH: Voice chat over Twitter, in two minutes or less
The microblogging website Twitter has launched a voice service, which allows users to call each other and chat for two minutes. Yesterday, Facebook launched a voice service.

A day after the news of Facebook Voice Chat, the microblogging website Twitter jumped on the bandwagon with a voice chat service, JAJAH@call.
Starting today, select Twitter users will be able to call each other for free. In typically Twitter style, the chats will be capped at two minutes. JAJAH@Call, which is still in beta, doesn't require any phone numbers – just a Twitter connection – and it can be used anywhere from a computer to a mobile phone.
In order to place a call, users must sign up as JAJAH members (don't worry, it's free), and for privacy reasons, users will have to follow each other to be able to chat. To connect with another user, all one has to do is type "@call@username," subbing in the person's username that you want to contact. JAJAH, the company that provided the technology, refers the two-minute limit as a way to make the calls "the verbal equivalent of a tweet."
Previously, JAJAH has provided communications services for Intel, Yahoo, and Microsoft. Those interested in testing out the Twitter voice service can request an invitation by sending an e-mail to twitter@jajah.com.
